With over a decade in the game, Flava D has cemented her reputation as one of the most prolific and versatile artists in the bass music scene. Born in Bournemouth, she has built an internationally successful career, mastering and performing across the spectrum of UK garage, grime, and bassline. Now, Flava D is taking her talents to new heights by officially joining the drum & bass powerhouse, Songs In The Key Of Knife.
Her career is marked by a series of standout releases, including tracks like “In The Dance,” the infectious “Soul Shake” with My Nu Leng, “Spicy Noodles,” and the acclaimed TQD album UKG alongside Royal-T and DJ Q. These projects have garnered global recognition from critics, tastemakers, and—most importantly—the dancefloor.
Flava D’s technical prowess and impeccable selection have left an indelible mark on dance music history. She joined the elite ranks of DJs by mixing the 88th edition of the legendary FABRICLIVE series, securing her place among the alumni of the world-famous Fabric nightclub. In addition to her worldwide bookings, Flava D has curated diverse lineups for her own headline shows, including a 13-week residency at London’s XOYO. Her influence was further solidified with a six-month residency at BBC Radio 1, where her taste-making reached a national audience.
Flava D’s foray into drum & bass began with her track “Return To Me,” featured on Hospital Records’ annual compilation Sick Music 2019. The track was met with widespread acclaim and was even selected as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record In The World. Following the success of her debut on the label, she returned with “Human Trumpet,” becoming a regular fixture at Hospital Records’ events and festivals worldwide. Her mainstage sets at Hospitality In the Park, Hospitality On the Beach, and Let It Roll have solidified her status as a powerhouse in the drum & bass scene.
